Walter Leon Peck, age 84 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away April 13, 2024. He was a member of Trinity Baptist church. He taught and was an assistant football and basketball coach at Winston County Board of Education. He retired from Double Springs Elementary where he helped start the first P.E. program.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, AL. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with C.R. Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg, AL.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wilburn, Bradley Jones, Steve Jones, Brian Mayatte, Darrell Boatwright, Dexter Boatwright. David Blacklidge, Cooper Mayatte, Tyler Jones and Zacharie Boatwright will serve as honorary pallbearers.
He is survived by his wife Judith A. Peck; sisters, Shirley Peck Jones and Rachel Peck Boatwright; a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Loyd Peck and Ruth Quinn Peck; and brother, Thomas Willard Peck.
