Meredith Ann Battle Meredith Ann Battle, age 50, of Albertville, passed away on April 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, activism, and love. Born on May 27, 1973, to the late Michael Correro and Ann Correro Thorn, Meredith’s life was marked by selflessness and dedication to her family and community.
Meredith was known for her unwavering devotion as a mother and her commitment to shaping young lives as a Girl Scout leader. Her altruistic spirit extended beyond her family and troop; she was a stalwart volunteer in various community initiatives, embodying the essence of service.
A passionate advocate for social rights, Meredith fearlessly championed causes close to her heart. Her innate ability to connect with people meant she never met a stranger; her warmth and empathy touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alan Battle, Sr., their cherished children, Mary Katherine “Katie” Battle and Alan Battle, Jr., as well as her siblings, Sarah Correro Foster, Camille Correro Clark, and Peter Correro. Meredith’s beloved companion, Snowflake, her faithful dog, also mourns her passing.
A memorial service to honor Meredith’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Following the service, a reception will be hosted at Christ Episcopal Church on East Main Street, where friends and family can gather to celebrate Meredith’s remarkable journey and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her.
