George Allan Maxwell, age 68 of Huntland, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Harvey, Illinois, on October 26, 1955, to the late Hugo Black and Fannie Mae (Owens) Maxwell. George earned his Associate Degree at Chattanooga State and then his Bachelor Degree from University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. He was a life-long learner, as he was always willing to learn. Before his retirement, he had been employed as an electrical engineer for many years at TVA. During his career, he traveled to many places to work. He enjoyed playing guitar and cooking for his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Sandy, Dennis, and Tommy Maxwell; and son, Richard “Rickey” Maxwell. George is survived by his loving children, Terry (Rebecca) Maxwell, and Pamela Maxwell Camp; grandchildren, Blain (Megan) Maxwell, Haley (Jordan) Gyurnek, Dakota Singiser, Mackenzi Singiser, C.J. Camp, Sadie Jo Camp; great-grandchildren, Wilson Cole Gyurnek; and nieces and nephews, Brock (Jayna) Maxwell, Lori Maxwell, and Julie Maxwell.
