Linda Lou Gamble Schatz Linda Lou Gamble Schatz was born in Haleyville, Ala., in 1946 and passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She spent her early years living in Tuscumbia, Ala., and graduated from Deshler High School in 1965. She graduated from the University of Alabama, where she earned a degree in special education and was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She had a long career as a special education teacher in Alabama and Oklahoma.

Linda Lou was an active volunteer with the Salvation Army and was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents James F. Gamble Sr. and Elizabeth Allen Gamble, her brother James F. Gamble Jr. and sister Jenny Sue Gamble Morgan.

She is survived by her brother John Allen Gamble Sr. of Elkmont, nephew John Allen Gamble Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., nephew Chad Gamble of Tuscumbia and niece Dr. Allison Cavender of Birmingham. She is survived by seven great nieces and a great nephew.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, with the Pastor Victor Colton officiating.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvation Army.

The family expresses a very special thanks to Dr. Edsel P. Holden II and the staff of North Alabama Medical Center, Station 5500.
