Ms. Inez Lewis Ms. Inez Lewis was born on March 13, 1947, in Madison, Alabama. She was the oldest child of Alberta Fletcher and Henry Erskine. Inez transitioned from her earthly life on February 27, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital.

Inez was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta Fletcher; father, Henry   Erskine; sister, Debra Fletcher; grandparents, Levi Fletcher, Chaney Fletcher, Sam Erskine Jr., and Berta Erskine.

Inez confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined St.  Andrew Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Holman. Inez was a faithful worker. She worked for General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) from 1970-1988; and Chrysler from 1988 until her retirement in 2004 when her health began to decline. Inez worked for Chrysler in Toledo, Ohio for a short while where she met lifelong friends. Inez loved spending quality time with her family and friends. Most of all, she absolutely loved the time she was able to spend with her great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories three children; Alvin Lewis, Lisa Johnson, and Yolanda Lewis, all of Huntsville, Alabama; five grandchildren; Marquita Lewis of Harvest, Alabama, Brett Johnson Jr. of New Market, Alabama, Arrogance Lewis and DeAmber McDonald both of Huntsville, Alabama, Amber Johnson (Terrell) of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; ten great-grandchildren whom she loved very much, Jaiden Rice, Leila Johnson, Kaleb Blackmon, De’Arei Horton, Karter Blackmon, Skylar Johnson, Alissa Petitpas, Hendrixx Lynch, Tayler and Terrell Morris Jr.; one sister, Dorothy Fletcher of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, Roy Fletcher of Madison, Alabama and Larry Erskine of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one nephew, Tarius Fletcher of Huntsville, Alabama; two nieces, Cortina Fletcher and Tia Malone both of Huntsville, Alabama; three aunts, Flora Lewis of Triana, Alabama, Rachel Horton (Frank) and Wanda Fletcher both of Huntsville, Alabama; one uncle, Theodore Burruss of Madison, Alabama; son-in-law, Brett Johnson Sr. of Huntsville, Alabama; a very special cousin, Betty Caudle of Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
John 14:1-3
