Janet Iris Gipson, age 81 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Buffalo, New York on July 12, 1942. Before her retirement, she had been employed at Wal-Mart. Janet had a beautiful, sweet nature and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and nana. She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Sharpless; son, Luis Alicea; grandson, James Musselman; and great-grandson, Jacob. Janet is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Kenneth Gipson; children, Oliver (Mary) Alicea, Constance Mayes, Kenneth D. Gipson, and Yvonne (Mike) Kirkland; grandchildren, Sammy (Wendy) Ortiz, Gisela (Carry) Smith, Janet (Jonathan) Underwood, Devon Watts, and Shawn Decent-Gipson; great-grandchildren, Celica, Noah, Hayvin, Avalea, Adakyn, and Kohen; great-great-grandchildren, Opie, Ace, and Zeck; siblings, Ruth Jackson, Frank (Marianne) Stevick, and Johnny (Marla) Stevick; and several nieces and nephews.
