Richard Devon McBee, age 66 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, doing what he enjoyed the most…being on the lake. He was born in Danville, Kentucky on October 3, 1957, to the late Joseph and Martha (Vaughan) McBee. While living in Texas, he had worked on oil rigs. Richard had then worked as a carpenter and painter until his retirement. By those in the trade, he was considered an “expert painter” because he never dropped a drip of paint. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed anything outside including fishing, canoeing, riding his bike, and going to the mountains and lake. But most of all, he loved spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. Richard will be remembered for his outgoing personality and contagious laugh, as well as his kind-hearted nature. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin McBee, and Allen McBee. Richard is survived by his loving sons, Jacob McBee, Joseph (Courtney) McBee, and Matthew Barnes; grandchildren, Lillie McBee, Karson McBee, Cash McBee, and Ronnie Lynn McBee; sister, Debbie (Tommy) Luttrell; brother, David (Ruth) McBee; nieces and nephews, Mandy Burton, Flipper Wiley, Greg McBee, Cliff McBee, and Pam Emmons; great-nieces and great-nephews, Lynsey Wiley, Lexie Thrasher, Jasper Wiley, Leslie McBee, Becca Penny, and Andie Jane McBee. A public graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery with Rev. Todd Coutta officiating. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222
