A memorial service for Mr. Thomas Henry Hayden, age 73 of Talladega, will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Chandler Springs Baptist Church at 2:00pm. Pastor Andrew Godwin and Chaplain Greg Tankersley will officiate.
Mr. Hayden was born in Alabama and lived in Talladega most of his life. After high school Tom proudly served in the US Marines for 8 years and eventually retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was an outdoorsman at heart and loved the lake cabin. He loved hunting and fishing and trips to Cades Cove. Tom was a woodsman in every way, cutting and milling lumber to handcraft furniture, especially chests for graduations and wedding gifts.
Tom is survived by his wife, Dorrie Hayden; children, Thomas Hank Hayden, Jr(Cat), Dale Lee Mitchell(Lisa) and Michael Gene Mitchell(Tommie); grandchildren, Nathan, Madison, Ryley Jo and Gavin Hayden, Sarah(Brandon) Thornton, Tyler(Madison) Mitchell, Dalton(Ashley) Mitchell, Abigail(Jessie) Castleberry and Arron(Bailey) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Jaxin, Jace, Sadie, Maddie, Boone, Thornton, Kash, Kross, Kase and Waylon; siblings, James Warren Hayden(Connie), Joe Torrey Hayden, Bessie Leach Parks, Bob Langdon Hayden(Nancy), William Bill Andy Anderson Hayden(Rhonda) and Allie Jim Pearson(Sam); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Allie Joe Hayden, and siblings, Torrey, Thomas and Brantley.
The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 until 2:00 at Chandler Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday.
