Benjamin “Benny” Matthews, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Family will receive friends at the Scottsboro Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. followed by a 2:30 p.m. graveside service at Rice Cemetery with Bro. Nick West officiating.
Benjamin “Benny” Matthews is survived by his daughters Mandy (Jeff) Hopper and Emily Miller; sisters, Gaynell Holliday from Winchester, TN, Cheryle Matthews from Winchester, TN, Juna Matthews of Winchester, TN, Jana (Ardie) Stephens of Skyline, AL; brothers, Terry Matthews from Estill Springs, TN, David Matthews from Eddyville, KY, Mike Matthews from Henegar, AL, Gilbert (Pamela) Matthews from Bryant, AL; grandkids, Carter Hopper, Tyler Miller, Cayden Hopper, and Adalynn Hopper; Along with many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lugene (Moore) Matthews; grandparents, Hodges and Amy (Wright) Moore, George Walker and Martha Susan (Sisk) Matthews; brothers, Bobby Matthews, Daniel Matthews; sisters, Gayle (Aaron) White, Anna Ruth Elliott; sister in-law, Kathleen Matthews.
