Lynda Roncker Beason, 79, died on January 31, 2024. She was born in Decatur on June 29, 1944, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Charles Roncker. She moved to Huntsville in junior high school, where she met her future husband, George Milton Beason, junior, whom she started dating in high school. She is a 1962 graduate of Huntsville High School, where she cheered and made lifelong friends. She attended the University of Alabama and was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She married George while in college and they started their life together in Tuscaloosa, followed by law school in Birmingham, and George’s time in the FBI that took them to Waterloo, Iowa and Cleveland, Ohio. They returned to Huntsville in 1972, where they raised three daughters and enjoyed their six grandchildren.

Lynda was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was active in numerous community organizations including the Huntsville Botanical Garden, Huntsville Art Museum, and the John Hunt Antique Club. She was a member of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild, where she served as President, Symphony Ball Chairman, and Crescendough Auction Chairman. She was a collector of antique furniture and was the proprietor of an antique store for many years. She was passionate about Alabama football and was especially fond of Coach Gene Stallings. She also loved traveling and spending time at the beach.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Milton Beason, junior; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Charles Roncker; and brother, James Dwight Roncker.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Wynne (Wendy) and Wallace Gary Tucker, junior, Elizabeth and Yancey Albert (Bert) Moore III, and Jennifer and Robert Eugene Douthit, junior; sister-and brother-in-law, Jan and Tommy Beason. She adored her six grandchildren who called her Honey, Andrew Bascom and Mary Wynne Tucker, Vivian Hightower and Jane Beason Moore, George Robert and Ella Elizabeth Douthit; nieces Mary Kay (Mike) Lew and LuAnn (Tom) Zant, and numerous beloved cousins.

A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery on Saturday, February 3rd, at 10 a.m., officiated by The Reverend Brett Gudeman. All are invited to the home of Elizabeth and Bert Moore, 218 Longwood Dr. SE where the family will receive following the service. Those concerned with walking safely on the cemetery grounds are welcome to the Moore home at 10 A.M., in lieu of attending the service.
