Carolyn Anita O’Reilly, 67 of Huntsville, AL went to her heavenly home Sunday, January 21, 2024. Anita was born in Scottsboro, AL on April 30, 1956 to Edward Faulkner and Callie Olene (Swafford) Faulkner. She lived most of her life in the Huntsville, Madison County area. In 1981 Anita met the love of her life, James “David” O’Reilly. They married January 15, 1982. They resided in the Huntsville and Ryland, AL area as they shared 42 wonderful years together with three children. In 2008, she accomplished a lifelong dream when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Athens State University.
Anita loved her family and spending time with them jet skiing, grilling out and watching Alabama football. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing, reading, painting, decorating and crafting. She liked to use her creativity to repurpose and make old things new again.
Anita was passionate about her faith, she was a member of GracePointe Baptist Church in New Market, AL. She enjoyed helping with Lunches of Love, Operation Christmas Child and giving of her time and resources to help others.
Anita is survived by her husband of 42 years, James “David” O’Reilly; her daughters Lisa (Wilson) Bentley (Jared), Jennifer (Wilson) Woody (Chris), and son James “Chad” O’Reilly (Briana); grandchildren Jessica Wilson, Tony Holley, Kali O’Reilly, Lilla Bentley, Logan O’Reilly, Braden Bentley, Reagan Woody, Dayla O’Reilly; great-grandchildren Bentley Wilson, Carolyne Wilson, Amelia Meeks; her brothers Charles Faulkner (Kelly), Jeff Faulkner (Jennifer), her sister Cathy Boles (Jimmy) and many nephews and a niece. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Olene Faulkner.
The family will receive friends at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00am in the Spry Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Gurley City Cemetery.
