Thomas Earl “Tommy” Smith, 72, Florence, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024. A joint memorial for Tommy and his son, Shane, will be Saturday, January 6, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with visitation from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. and the service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Jason Roberson will officiate.
Tommy was a native and lifelong resident of Florence and a member of Magnolia Church of Christ. He worked at Reynolds Can Plant until it closed, then at Monarch Tile. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shane Smith; and sister, Linda Wenelle Watkins (Charles).
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Linda Smith; son, Timothy Andrew “Andy” Smith; sister, Brenda Methvin (Rodney); sister-in-law, Nancy Pate (John); and numerous nieces and nephews.
