Jerry Mac Stockton, age 76 of Double Springs, Alabama passed away December 24, 2023.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at The Rock Family Worship Center. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Mike Turner, Stephen Jenkins speaking and Pastor Rusty Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Double Springs Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Stockton, David Norwood, Chris Marchbanks, Scott Flynn, Scott Pendley, Derrick Smith, Steve Tubbs, Ron Ogle and Wes Watts.
Jerry was born April 1, 1947 to Burley and Anna Stockton. He was a graduate of Winston County High School and The University of North Alabama. He spent his professional career teaching and coaching numerous children at Winston County High School. However, Jerry’s greatest accomplishment was the two children he raised. He dedicated his life to Laura Stockton Tubbs and Roger Stockton.
Jerry married Maxine Stockton in 1993 and they merged their families and built a wonderful life together for 30 years, raising their families and adding to their extended family over the years.
Jerry was a christian who loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved to worship with his church family at The Rock Family Worship Center. He enjoyed fishing Smith Lake and shared his passion and knowledge with family members and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Maxine Stockton; children, Laura Stockton Tubbs (Steve), Roger Stockton (Jana) and Tracy Norwood (David); sister, Gladys Hazel Ivey; grandchildren, Emersyn Leigh Stockton, Saidey Harris, Mabrey Allen, Chris Marchbanks and Prentice Taylor; and great grandchildren, Everly Harris, Lawson Harris, Noah Allen, Zackary Taylor and Patrice Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Burley Stockton; mother, Anna Stockton; and brother, W.J. Stockton.
