HUNTSVILLE– Just in time for holiday hikes and cooler temperatures, Land Trust of North Alabama has launched a new website to provide easy access to all the information needed to enjoy the beauty and benefits of the great outdoors.
Land Trust of North Alabama is a nonprofit serving ten counties of North Alabama to protect natural lands and provide opportunities and spaces for outdoor recreation and education. The Land Trust’s ten public nature preserves offer over 80 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. All are free to access thanks to the support of over 2000 members contributing annually.

Using the “Find a Trail” feature, visitors can easily locate nature preserves then download a trail map, discover interesting features and convenient amenities, and get helpful hiking tips. Those that prefer a guided experience can register for an upcoming guided hike or educational program. Looking for an outing for the whole family? There’s a fun list of family-friendly ideas and inspiration to help plan your outing.
“North Alabama has so many beautiful natural spaces. By making it easy to find places to go and all the information you’ll need for the best possible experience, we hope to encourage more people to get outdoors and enjoy it,” says Melanie Manson with the Land Trust of North Alabama.
While there, you can learn about the Land Trust’s current projects to enhance local habitats, create connectivity for people and wildlife, and protect irreplaceable natural land before it’s gone. Individuals can join this community-led conservation effort, by volunteering time and expertise or by becoming a member. Land Trust membership begins at $35 annually and offers a variety of benefits like access to the Land Trust map app, discounts at local retailers, priority registration for guided hikes, and invitations to unique members-only experiences.
Find everything needed to plan a North Alabama outdoor adventure and support enhanced quality of life across the region at landtrustnal.org.
