Barry Richard Hogan, 59 of Jasper passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Barry was born in Birmingham on June 3, 1964 to Ben and Joan Hogan. Barry spent most of his life in Jasper after his mother re-married Jimmy Lee, originally of Carbon Hill, AL. He served in his life as a Certified Welder for Chicago Bridge & Iron in the 80’s, Regional Paramedic Service from 1991 to 1999, Walker County Sheriffs Department from 1999 to 2008, McGehee Engineering Service from 2008 to 2018. Barry instrumental in establishing underwater rescue with Walker County Team member Tim Stockman. Barry is well remembered by his love for off-road motorsports, hunting and the outdoors, and his ability to meet a person once and make them feel as though they had known him their whole life.
Barry was preceded in death by his Dad-Ben Hogan.
He is survived by Daughter-Brooke Hogan; Son-Kyle Thomas; Brother-James Dean Lee; Mother-Joan Salter Lee; Stepdad-Jimmy Lee; Brooke’s mother Kelly, as well as a host of family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life service held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Family Church, located at 292 Hwy 195, Jasper, AL. Friends come as you are.
