Funeral service for Joan Tanner, age 85, of Hartselle, who passed away November 29, 2023 at her residence, will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 at First Bible Church with Rev. Steve Bateman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Midway Memorial Gardens. Shelton Funeral Home is assisting the family.
She was born August 29, 1938 to Lawerence W. Anderson and Lura Gamble Anderson in Smith County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Anderson.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John W. Tanner, son, Mark Tanner, grandson, John Ross Tanner (Brittany), great grandson John Waylon Tanner, sister, Sue Lewis (David).
She was a member of First Bible Church.
Pall Bearers will be John Ross Tanner, Tyler Vinson, Jorden Robinson, Ricky Dupree, Greg George, Mike Bishop.
