Betty Ruth Engle Taylor, 96 of Huntsville, passed away on November 30, 2023.
She is survived by her children, Robert Engle (Robin), Harry A. Engle, Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Greg Engle (Leigh), Rob Engle, Jr. (Kathleen); great grandchildren, Sara Grace, Gregory, Medora, Flynt, Amalie; a number of step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren; siblings, Kathryn Baldwin, Patricia Law, Jerolyn McManus (Albert); special cousins, Beverly Scherer, Shelia Davidson; and other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry A. Engle, Sr. and Robert E. Taylor; parents, Robert C. Snowden and Necie McIntyre Snowden; sister, Evelyn S. Booker; grandson, Aaron S. Engle; and a step daughter.
Born in Evergreen, AL, she attended Graceland College and was a graduate of Livingston College where she obtained her teaching degree. She got married and moved back to Evergreen where she lived prior to moving to Auburn for two years. After obtaining her teaching degree in Livingston, AL she taught 7th grade at Livingston High School until she moved to Huntsville, where she taught 5th grade at Blossomwood Elementary School, until she retired. She was a life long member of Community of Christ Church.
Betty was truly loved by her family and was able to communicate with them until the very end.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Visitation will be concluded with the reading of the 23rd Psalm, singing of Amazing Grace, and a short prayer. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
