Joseph Lee Erskine, Sr., also known as Joe Lee was born in Huntsville, AL on July 26, 1951 to Mr. Leroy and Mrs. Narcissa Erskine. He is preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers, Leroy Jr., Johnny, Thomas, Allan, Gregory, and Robert Erskine. He transitioned from this life on October 26, 2023, at his home in Huntsville.
Joe Lee was a Vietnam War Veteran. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, and doing yard work. He had a great sense of humor and love to joke. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones and friends.
Joe Lee is survived by: his son, Joseph Lee Erskine, Jr., of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren; three brothers, Roosevelt Erskine, Rob Erskine, Sr., both of Huntsville, AL and James Erskine of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Frances Brewton and Katherine Langford, both of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Rosie Scruggs-Erskine of Huntsville, AL; dear friend, Larry Anderson of Hazel Green, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Minister Donald Walton officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
There will be no public viewing.
