Funeral service for Donald Newman Legg, 90, will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Vest and Bro. Elliott Gordon officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Legg died on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence. He was born November 4, 1932, in Morgan County, to John Talmadge Legg and Beauford Estoria Hendrix Legg.
He was employed as a Supervisor for Copeland Corporation, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church. Mr. Legg served with the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a long time Hartselle Softball League coach in the 70’s having coached countless girls on the Hillbillies and in Allstars. He then served as President of the League for many years. In 2008, he was inducted into the Dixie Softball Hall of Fame. He was married to the love of his life, Alvilene, and they were together for 60 years.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Alvilene, his parents, three brothers, Carl Talmadge Legg, Ben Franklin Legg, and James Louis Legg and a sister, Geraldine Locke.

Talmadge Appleton,
Nathaniel James Battles and
Eli Appleton.
Pallbearers will be Guy Battles, Tommy Appleton, Jared Appleton, Barry Weldon, Lane Anders and John Mitchell.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Kyle Kirby.
