Carolyn Smith Hayes of Decatur, Alabama went home August 31, 2023. Graveside service will be held September 5 at 11am at Midway Memorial Gardens in Lawrence County with Pastor Brandon Lewis officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 9:30 to 10:30 at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Carl Hayes, parents Lloyd Smith and Lillie Mae McIntyre Smith, brother Frank Smith, and sister Barbara Gautreaux. Carolyn is survived by her son, Bo Hayes (Wimbreth) and daughter Carla Hayes Eckenrod (Mark). Grandchildren, Nick Hayes (Emily), Alex Hayes, Lila Hayes, Sadie Eckenrod and Della Eckenrod. Great grandchildren Addi, Lola, Nellie, Rayleigh, and Wyatt.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
