Carl Edward Farris, age 69 of Nashville, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Alive Hospice Facility in Murfreesboro. He was born in Winchester on January 28, 1954, to the late Clarence and Annie (Clark) Farris. In his younger years, Carl worked as a machinist, and then served civil warrants until his retirement. Following retirement, he joined the Sugar Creek Band and was their lead singer, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool and golf. Carl was a member of Woodson Chapel Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor, as well for being a talented singer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen McCallie, Imogene Neal, Jack Farris, John Farris, and Daniel Farris. Carl is survived by his loving wife of twenty-three years, Patricia Farris; children, Angie McMahan, Connie Farris, Alan Farris, and Andria (Ken) Baker; grandchildren, Chaise McMahan, Ryley Kesling, Heather (Eric) Randolph, and Hanna Baker; great-grandsons, Kade and Koa’di; siblings, William Clyde Farris, David Farris, and Stella Reiben; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-4pm on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Jeff Randolph officiating.
