We are sad to announce the passing of our loving husband and father, Carmon “Tracy” Underwood. He left his earthly walk of life Friday, August 11, 2023 after an extended illness. Even though a failing heart and lungs took him away from this earth his memory will forever remain in our hearts, and he will be greatly missed. Daddy enjoyed sharing his love of playing the guitar and singing to his family and friends. He loved to impersonate Johnny Cash and George Jones. He could always make us laugh with his wittiness and sense of humor even when he was sick. He would always say, “I’m ok, don’t worry about me, I love you baby. We love you daddy and will carry you in our hearts forever.
Tracy was born on March 13, 1946, in Itawamba, Ms. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years, Lyndia Underwood; daughters, Amanda Scott (Michael), Chanda Holland, Tessa Glass; grandchildren, Dylan Chandler, Chason Scott (Ryleigh), Colton Chandler, Alexis Glass, Trey Glass, Austin Scott, Whittey Scott, Maddie Holland and Sam Holland; brothers, Roy Hardin and Billy Hardin and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmon & Edith Underwood; granddaughter, Alexis Glass; siblings, Randall Underwood, Mac Underwood, Carolyn Houston, Betty Ann Lond, Lynn Nesbitt, Sandra Smith, and Pat Rock.
The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Bro. James McCullar officiating the services. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Dylan Chandler, Chason Scott, Colton Chandler, Trey Glass, and Austin Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremey Hargett, Michael Scott and Eric Chanler.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
