Funeral Services for Carol Denise Dean, age 57, of Oxford, will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. Norman Byrom officiating. Burial will follow at New Harmony Christian Church Cemetery.
Ms. Carol Denise Dean passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. She was born in Clay County, where she lived for many years. She worked as a CNA and enjoyed caring for people, especially her parents during their sickness. Her son, Jonathan, was her greatest joy. She loved and protected Jonathan as a “Mama Bear”. While living in Atlanta, she enjoyed the Atlanta Skylight the most, but just loved living in Atlanta. She later moved to Oxford, where she lived for the rest of her life. Some of her favorite things to do was going to the beach, the mountains and sitting on her back porch drinking her morning coffee. She was an avid Auburn fan, with a wonderful laugh that was contagious. She had a big heart for everyone she met. No one was a stranger to her.
Carol Denise Dean is survived by her son, Jonathan Dean, Oxford, AL.; her brother, David Brown (Jennifer) of Lineville, one aunt, Linda B. Glass (Tommy) of Montgomery; two uncles, Paul Rogers (Jeanette) of Roanoke, AL. and Carroll Gunter of Munford, AL.; three nieces, Amanda Shaddix of Lineville, AL., Tiffany Shaddix (Adam) of Heflin, AL., and Brooke Brown of Lineville, AL.; two nephews, Tyler R. Brown (Amber) of Lineville and Garak Pepper of Columbus, TN.; and several cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Carolyn Brown; a brother, James L. Brown; her grandparents, James and Gracie Holmes and A.L. and Audrey Brown; three aunts, Catherine Gunter, Frances Holmes, and Jane Brown; one uncle, Frank D. Brown; and one nephew, T. C. Clifton, III.
David Brown, Tyler Brown, Leon Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Christian Walker, and Adam Shaddix will be the pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
