Andrea Dobbs OliverAndrea Corene Dobbs Oliver was born in Haleyville, Alabama on November 14, 1950, to Ronald
“Top” and Margaret Walker Dobbs. Andrea married Wyman Oliver on July 26, 1978. They have two
children, Stephanie White (Jamie) and Jonathon Oliver (Lindsey). Their grandchildren are Kayleigh
McAlpine (Scott), Brant White, and Top and Finleigh Oliver.

Andrea graduated in 1969 from Haleyville High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of
Elementary Education degree from Auburn University. She then furthered her education at the
University of North Alabama with a master’s degree in education. She later obtained her AA in administration at the University of Alabama. She began her lifelong career in 1974 as a
2nd grade teacher, then retired in 2000 as an administrator.

Andrea was passionate about her church, family, gardening, and loved golf and traveling. She
has been a lifelong active member of Ninth Avenue Church of Christ where she was involved in various events. Due to her love for education, she joined the committee of “Adopt A School”. There she helped prepare monthly snacks/goodies for Haleyville City School teachers and staff. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She obligated her time to her grandchildren and most of her days were occupied by watching them at their extracurricular activities. She later began playing golf as her grandchildren became interested in the sport.

Andrea was survived by her husband, Wyman Oliver; children, Stephanie (Jamie) White and
Jonathan (Lindsey) Oliver; brother, Derral (Debbie) Dobbs; sister, Elaine Tank; grandchildren, Kayleigh (Scott) McAlpine, Brant White, Top Oliver and Finleigh Olver; and nieces and nephews, Katelyn Hollaway, Anna Margaret Farris, Olivia Brimer, Trey Dobbs and Matthew Dobbs; and a host of cousins.

There will be a graveside service Monday, August 7, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Winston Memorial Cemetery with Matthew Ballentine officiating. Scott McAlpine, Jacob Brimer, Trey Dennis, Jake Temple, Al Temple and Detrick Wallace will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Scott Hollaway.
