Carolyn Marie Lindsay Carolyn Marie Webb Lindsay, 77, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Lindsay was born in Athens on September 1, 1945, to Neely Gaines Webb and Dorothy Bates Webb.

She is survived by her children Curtis Lindsay, Lewis Lindsay, Laurie Lindsay, Lee Lindsay (Michelle), and Lane Lindsay (Angie); and grandchildren Lucas Lindsay, Tristan Lindsay, Jena Lindsay, and Ty Lindsay.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. Lindsay, and by her parents.

Mrs. Lindsay was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1963. She was a licensed beautician, a small business owner, and an accomplished amateur golfer in her younger years. In the 1970s, she proudly served as a deputy on patrol in the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department, working under Sheriff Buddy Evans. In this capacity she was crucial to rescue efforts in the aftermath of the devastating tornadoes of 1974.

From the 1980s, she was a mother and homemaker as well as a stained-glass artisan of some local renown, with pieces in many churches and homes across the region. Later on, she immensely enjoyed gardening — but only with her four-legged fur babies by her side, ensuring things were done just right.

In accordance with Mrs. Lindsay’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. The family is deeply appreciative of your sympathies and remembrances.
