Anna Jay Almaroad, age 77 passed away peacefully at 3:08 a.m. on Monday July 24, 2023 at UAB hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Born to Inez Wilson Bishop and Charles Quitman Bishop in Marie, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Almaroad was preceded in death by her Parents-Charles Quitman Bishop and Inez Wilson Bishop; Brothers-Donnie Bishop, Michael Bishop, Marswain Bishop and Henry Almaroad ; Husband-Everett Almaroad; Sister-Evelyn Borum; Brother-Henry Almaroad; Daughter-in-law-Sharlyn Almaroad; Brother-in-law-Roy Almaroad; Niece-Charlotte Cody; Nephew-Chris Martin; Grandson-Chaz Smithson and Great grandson-River Elijah Almaroad.
She is survived by her Children-Kimberly (Terry) Hester of Jasper, Leisha Thomas of Arley and Kevin (Barbara) Almaroad of Jasper; Brothers-Charles (Cynthia) Bishop, Jerry (Harriet) Bishop and Billy (Shirley) Bishop; Sister-Mary (Bill) Martin; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
Ann loved all of her family more than anything but she especially adored her great grandson Samson Werling, he quickly became her best friend. Right before her passing she got to meet her newest best friend Nolan Everett Almaroad.
Pallbearers will be Steven Alich, Nick Alich, Hunter Cook, Christopher Horn, Tyler Hester and Josh Whitlow.
