Funeral for Carl Lee Taylor, 90, of Hartselle, will be Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 3:00PM at East Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Irwin and Pastor Walter Blackmon officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30PM-3:00PM at the church. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Taylor died on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at his residence. He was born August 8, 1932 in Limestone County, Alabama to Leonard Lester and Geneva Holt Taylor.
He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church, started his working career at the early age of 8 years old at Athens Wholesale Grocery, and was a US Army Veteran, and retired form Lynn Layton Chevrolet after 59 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Hazel Summerford Taylor, son, Johnny, his wife Carol and son, Chris, 4 brothers.
Survivors include, son, Bobby Taylor (Terri), daughter, Kathy Irwin (Michael), five grandchildren, Tim Ward (Anabeth), Brad Irwin (Kaila), Michelle Kelso (Phillip), Matt Taylor (Christi), and Amber Loons (Sean), seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Ward, Adelyn Ward, Kaiden Irwin, Emalee Irwin, Jordan Kelso, Carter Kelso, and Johnny Taylor, sister, Marie Creecy, many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Kelso, Brad Irwin, Tim Ward, Taylor Ward, Matt Taylor, Anthony Shaneyfelt, Kaiden Irwin, Jordan Kelso, and Carter Kelso
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Highland Baptist Church.
