Mary Lou Mathews, age 93 of Carbon Hill, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at her residence.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Fayette County. Lynell Early will officiate.
Mrs. Mathews was preceded in death by her Father-Kib Feltman; Mother-Lora Feltman; Daughter-Dorothy Cagle; Brothers-Barney Feltman and Cas Feltman; Sisters-Maybelle Feltman, Estell Kimbrell, Flora Jane Stovall and one infant sister; First Husband-Woodie Simmons; Second Husband-Leo Mathews.
She is survived by her Daughter-Shirley Edgil (JB); Son-Elwood Simmons (Pam); Brother-Billy Paul “Jack” Feltman (Ida Mae); Grandchildren-Charlotte Hayden, Mary Jane Goodsen, Carla Eaton and Johnathon Cagle; Great Grandchildren-Jonas Albright, Blake Gann, Caleb Gann, Lucas Gann, Keri Coley, Zachary Goodsen, Jacob Goodsen, Ariel Ashcraft, Carranon Ashcraft and Emsli Chapman; 10 Great-Great Grandchildren.
