James (Jim) A. Fredette was born in Albany, NY, on February 11, 1961, and passed away June 25, 2023, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Denise; a son, David; granddaughter, DeLaney; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sapp; brother, Victor (Deborah) Fredette; sister, Pam (Kevan) Seiden and brother-in-law, Dennis (Debbie) Sapp. He is preceded in death by his parents, James A Fredette, Sr. and Jennie K Fredette.
Jim enlisted in the Navy in 1980 and retired as Lieutenant in June, 2001. Duty stations included ship and shore duty in Charleston, SC, Kings Bay, GA, Sasebo, Japan, Jacksonville, FL and Millington, TN. Before enlisting and after retirement, Jim was active as a volunteer firefighter both in East Greenbush, NY and in Union Grove and Arab, AL. He was a paramedic for Marshall Health Systems for 16 years. He enjoyed RV camping with his wife, boating, golf and flying. He especially enjoyed sitting on the deck with family and enjoying a cup of coffee.
The family has chosen cremation. There is no planned service at this time.
