Funeral service for Peggye Sue (Wallace) Jinks, age 84, of Decatur will be 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Terry officiating. Mrs. Jinks, who died Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born September 7, 1938, in Moulton, AL to Jess Willard Wallace and Chlista Lucretia (Smith) Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jinks, Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Jeirus Wallace and Waymon Wallace; and sister, Vicki Blankenship. Peggye was married to Kenneth for 52 years. She was a mother to Ken and Mark, and she had five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. During her working years she was a medical transcriptionist in urgent care. Her hobbies were gardening and painting. For the past four years, Peggye resided at Country Cottages in Decatur. She was a mother, grandmother, and friend who brought joy and love to our lives and will be missed.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Jinks, Jr. (Sharon) and Mark Jinks (Kim); three brothers-in-law, Buddy Blankenship, James Jinks, and Donald Jones (Carol); five sisters-in-law, Daphine Wallace, Alpha Wallace, Kathy Graham (Ben), Barbara Lingle, and Marcia Vaughn; five grandchildren, Justin Jinks, Meagan Jinks, Andrew Rutherford, Haley Harris, and Taylor French; and her six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Southern Care/New Beacon Hospice.
