Mary Jane Carter Mary Jane Carter, age 83, of Russellville, died peacefully June 24, 2023 at Cypress Cove Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Evelyn Carter; brother, Bill Carter, sisters, Betty Seal and husband J.T. Seal, Jeannine Roper Grove and Martha Measells Sorrells. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Margie Carter and multitude of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by Jerry Kimbrough and survived by her family of her heart, Patti Kimbrough, John David Kimbrough and family, Jennifer Cox, and family.

Mary Jane was devout Christian woman, well loved and cherished by her family. She was a Nurse practitioner by career and worked many years at various local hospitals and with TVA. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University through their nursing program and a great lover of knowledge and music. She studied constantly and never stopped learning. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years and was involved in the choir ministry there. She was more recently a member of First Baptist Church. She sponsored many students and their endeavors through various means. She was a loving, generous, sweet soul and will be very much missed by those of us who loved her dearly.

The visitation 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. service  will be at 2: 00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Buford Parker. The Burial will be at Knights of Pythias.

Honorary pallbearers are: Jim Bauer, Lanny Norris, Wade Gaston, Jimmy Montgomery, Gene Ellison, Andy Gault and Cayce Harrison.

We want to thank Cypress Cove Center and their hospice team for the excellent care provided. Thank you to Spry Memorial for all their care and commitment.
