Friends and family are welcome to celebrate the life of Mrs. Evelyn Marie Zandlo, age 82, at an intimate graveside service held at 1 pm Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery in Trenton, TN.
Mrs. Zandlo passed away peacefully in her home in Trenton, TN on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, after a long battle with dementia.
Mrs. Zandlo was born in Maben, WV on March 31, 1941, to parents Harry William Stanley and Ruby Ethel Cook Stanley. Evelyn had a rewarding life as a homemaker, where she raised her four, beautiful children. She came to TN in 2006 to be closer to her sister, Tnia J. Morgan and her husband Marvin, following the death of her husband. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, and filled her home with handcrafted projects, She was also an avid member of Whitehall Baptist Church, where she participated in many bible studies and attended dutifully until she no longer could. She shared her vast biblical knowledge in her woman’s study groups, and spent her evenings reading bible stories to her granddaughter, Penny. Outside of the home, Evelyn enjoyed gardening and spent the warmer months tending to her lush flower beds. She could best be described as a woman with abundant energy, who could never be content sitting still. She filled her time with projects and family, and only sat down long enough to read a book. Her home was a sanctuary, overflowing with plants, quilted murals, and “Though he brings grief, he will bring compassion. So great is his unfailing love.” Lamentations 3:32 (NIV)
Mrs. Zandlo was preceded in death by her loving and doting husband of many tears, William “Bill” Zandlo.
Mrs. Zandlo family was the light of her life. She is survived by her four children, Najwa Sissy Zandlo of Trenton, TN, Margaret S. Jones and husband Benny of Berkley, WV, Timothy Blevins and wife Bonnie of OH, and Rebbeca Corak and husband David of VA; three siblings whom she adored, Pattie Whorton and husband Richard, Tonia J. Morgan and husband Marvin, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry William Stanley Jr.; eight joyful grandchildren, Bret G. Jones, Abdrea M. Young, Barkley G. Jones, Ashley M. Jones, Wayne Ramsey, Chris Ramsey, Samantha Blevins, and Jennifer Blevins; and five delightful great grandchildren, Penny A. Zandlo, Bronson G. Jones, Evander G. Jones, Remmington B. Young, and Nolan W. Young.
