John Wallace Rutland Jr., 86 of Arley, AL, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023. Visitation Tuesday, June 20th at 10:00 am at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with John McMath officiating and burial following at Barton Cemetery.
John was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a retired employee of BellSouth and AT&T. John and his wife, Barbara, were long-time members of Curry Church of Christ, Jasper, Alabama.
John was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mattie Mabel and John Wallace Rutland Sr., and brothers Kenneth and James Rutland.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara Eloise Rutland, children, Pam Barnes (Eddie) and Greg Rutland (Stacey): brother, Glen Rutland (Sara): grandchildren, John Legg (Alexis), James Legg (Rachael), Elizabeth Gamble (Adam) and Drew Rutland: and great-grandchildren, Christopher and Caroline Legg, Knox Peoples and Ryan Gamble.
Pallbearers will be Glen Rutland, Eddie Barnes, John Legg, James Legg, Adam Gamble and Dan Sheehy.
