Patsy McFarlen Patsy Campbell McFarlen, 81, of New Market, passed away on June 13 after a lengthy sickness.

Patsy was a Postal Clerk at the New Market Post Office for 37 years. She was active at the Union Grove Church of Christ her entire life. She was interested in genealogy and history preservation. She served in several different positions for the Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society and freely assisted other families in their history quest as well.  Patsy was influential in getting many of the National Historical markers placed in and around the New Market area. She previously had served as a trustee for New Market School. She also served in many other community ventures including the Mt. Paron Cemetery restoration project and was an active associate member of the New Market Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years. During all of which she was instrumental in helping with fundraising efforts for these groups. She was always willing to lend a hand.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wayne McFarlen; her son Mac McFarlen (Kaye), her daughters, Becky Jones (Wendell) and Laura McFarlen; her brother James Ed Campbell; her grandchildren, Sally Cramblit (Michael), Sara Ashley (Justin), Celia Cassidy (Joel), Rebecca Putman (Andrew), Mary-Elizabeth McFarlen, and Sam McFarlen; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.    Preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Celia Campbell.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 17th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by a 11:00 AM chapel service.  Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery, Joe Quick Road,  New Market, Al.
