Lawrence “Larry” Huston Bilstein, born in Florence, AL, in 1949 to Bob and Roberta Bilstein, passed from this life on June 5, 2023. He graduated from Coffee High School in 1967. He served in the Navy and Naval Reserves. He attended UNA and graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide).

Larry retired from TVA after serving as Inventory Control Specialist for 30 years. Then he returned to TVA as a contractor for several more years supporting TVA’s Telecom Construction group. He was an avid cook who saw recipes as suggestions, and his cookies and muffin tops were always in high demand. Larry was one of a kind. His sense of humor (with that touch of sarcasm), his generous nature, and the great love he had for his family and friends will live forever in our hearts. Larry supported many causes and charities, so in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in memory of Larry to your favorite charity.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 3 PM at Fairview Church, 2720 Hwy. 341, Pontotoc, MS, with Bro. Corey Collins officiating. A potluck memorial meal will follow. Bring your favorite dish, your favorite memory, and let’s laugh and cry and be thankful for the time we had with him. Tutor Memorial is in charge of arrangements.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Richard Bilstein and Lauren Moore (Josh); his grandchildren, Bella and Camden Bilstein, Olivia and Shelby Schurfeld, and new additions, Carson and Mattie Moore; his sisters, Teresa Boggan and Barbara Bilstein; his stepdaughters, Whitney Robbins (Greg, Hayes, Dalton, Digby, and William) and Tracey Daniels (Preston); and his niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tom Bilstein; and his wife and mother of his children, Iris Bilstein.
