Mary Irene Cobb Smith, 101, of Florence, passed away March 22, 2013 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and retired from Barber’s Cafeteria as a dessert cook.
Visitation will be Monday, March 25, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with David Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Smith; parents, Charlie and Lula Cobb; sons, Earl, Gaines, and James Smith; daughters, Earline Smith and Helen McClendon; several grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Hazel Owens (Larry) of Florence, Agnes Mesaros (Bill) of South Bend, IN; son, Paul Smith (Gloria) of Killen; 19 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Bryan McNatt, Rick Blocker, Bradley Conley, Matt McNatt, Greg Darby, and Junior Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Blocker and Dale Conley.
