Sheldon Everett Taffe was born on Friday October 10, 1975, at Andrews Memorial Hospital in Jamaica. His big sister Marie was excited to have younger company in the house. As they grew up, they loved to sing while their mom played the piano.
When he was 5 years old, his family moved to England. He attended Highland House Primary School, then John Loughborough High School where he graduated at 16 years old, ready for college. Then his family relocated to the USA. He was distinguished by his crisp, British accent which was always a breath of fresh air.
Sheldon disciplined himself to learn, achieving MBA, MSc, BA, and AA degrees in Human Resources and Business Management. With his strong work ethic, Sheldon worked at several jobs to pay his way through College and University, while taking care of his family. At the time of his passing, he was the HR Manager at Shaw Industries in Dalton, Georgia.
Sheldon was an ardent Bible student and served his church as a Junior Elder, and Sabbath School teacher. In addition, he served in the music ministry as a keyboard accompanist to many choirs and vocalists. He also used his rich baritone voice to enhance the Metropolitan Church Youth Choir and Quartet, as well as the University of Maryland Gospel Choir. He also had the gift of writing, mainly poetry and unique resumes for specific job descriptions.
Sheldon loved his family especially when he brought them together for holidays and special occasions. He treated his sister Marie like a special lady. He obeyed and respected his parents, living by the biblical principles they instilled in him. He was a responsible, devoted father to his four children, and maintained a healthy respect for their mother.
On Sunday morning, May 28, 2023, Sheldon went to the Gym in Dalton, Georgia. During a regular exercise routine, he passed out and could not be revived. Sheldon leaves to mourn his loss – parents Pastor Horace and Bridget Taffe, his sister Marie, his four children, his nephew, aunts, cousins, and many friends. Sheldon will be awaiting the call of the Life-Giver. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
