Ernest Alfred “Buddy” Brandon, beloved husband of Sallie Ballentine Brandon, passed away peacefully at their home in Huntsville, Alabama on June 1, 2023.
Buddy was born in Hopewell, Virginia and always considered himself to be a Virginian. He spent his career working for J&J Corrugated Box Corporation in various capacities. He had the greatest respect for the company’s founder, Edwin Jaffe, and felt his work at J&J suited and fulfilled him abundantly well.
The son of the late Ernest Bruce and Anna James Brandon, Buddy leaves his wife Sallie, three children, two stepchildren, and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances (Pinny) Gilmer Brandon.
The family wishes to commend and thank the staff of Hospice Family Care for their compassionate care of Buddy and his family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, directed to Hospice Family Care, or to a charity of one’s choice.
In lieu of a memorial service, Buddy simply requested that his ashes be scattered in Virginia, some upon his mother’s grave.
