Shirleen Stewart Gifford, age 74 of Decherd, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born on July 13, 1948, to the late James Howard and Mary Ruth (Farris) Stewart. Before her retirement, Shirleen had been employed as a seamstress. In her spare time, she loved to read and sew and also enjoyed baking and cooking for friends and family. But most of all, she cherished the time spent together with her beloved family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frankey Gifford; and granddaughter, Lindey Jane Gifford. Shirleen is survived by her loving children, Scottie (Bobbie) Gifford of Fayetteville, Tracie (Larry) Brown of Manchester, Jaimee (Bryan) Hamby of Decherd, and Dorrie (John) Powers of Decherd; siblings, Jimmy “Rabbit” (Kim) Stewart of Cowan, David Stewart of Decherd, Phillip “Bink” (Yvonne) Stewart of Winchester, Rita (Mike) Davis of Murfreesboro, and Jeff Stewart of Decherd; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Dr. Rev. Michael Clark officiating.
