Thomas Carlton Whitten, Jr., age 59, of Town Creek, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.  He had fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Whitten was a devoted Christian, was an ordained minister, and loved his family, but first, loved his God.  He was a volunteer fire fighter.  He loved being outside, loved to fish, and working outside in his orchard and flower beds.  He was proud of his accomplishment of being a published author.   He loved his family, especially his little four-legged baby, “Little Bit”.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 25 years, Donna Conroy Whitten; son, Eric S. Tighe; brother, David Whitten; sister, Cynthia Whitten Crane; special nephew and son of the heart, Charlie Adcox; his four-legged baby, Little Bit; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Carlton Whitten Sr, Joyce Jordan Whitten; sisters, Tammy Hendric, Donna Kilburn; and grandparents.

A celebration of his life service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 03, 2023, at Livingway Apostolic Church, 4430 Hwy 20, Town Creek, AL with Bishop Clay officiating the service.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Aunt Kathrine Whitten Kennady, Aunt Diane Whitten, Aunt Patricia Catlin, Uncle Terry Jordan, Bishop Clay; and family members who have been our help during this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Livingway Apostolic Church Scholarship Fund or to the Wounded Warriors Fund.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
