Roy Lynn Barnes, 65, resident of Tippah County passed away unexpectedly from natural causes May 25, 2023, at Tippah County Hospital.
A Celebration honoring the life of Mr. Barnes will be held at a later day.
Mr. Barnes was born May 21, 1958, in Memphis, TN to the late Leroy and Jowillie Barnes. He received his education from Ripley High School and was employed with Manny Grahm in Blue Mountain, for 30 years pouring concrete. A hard worker, he truly enjoyed his job and was dedicated to his work.
Mr. Barnes loved being outdoors which included fishing, hunting, and “shaking a little ice” with friends, as his favorite pastime. He never met a stranger and would help anyone he could. His fun personality and easy-going soul will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memories include two daughters, Bonnie Robbins and Rebecca Wilson, two sons, Roy Barnes Jr and Donnie Barnes (Tamara), one stepdaughter, Susan Robinson (Jerry), his stepmother, Joyce Barnes, two sisters, Rochell Boggs (Ricky) and Brenda Whitehead (Harold), ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Velda Barnes, and a grandson, Shelton Wilson.
