A memorial service for Mr. Jack Earl Forbus, age 74 of Cragford, will be held at a later date. Mr. Forbus passed away May 22, 2023 at the Clay County Hospital.
Jack was born and raised in Alexander City, AL. He graduated from Russell High School and went on to graduate from Auburn University. He later went on to graduate from the University of New Orleans. Jack served on Active duty in the U.S. Air Force and reserve duty with the Mississippi Air National Guard. Jack worked as an internal auditor for the U.S. Department of Treasury until he retired in 2015. He then joined his family in Lineville, where he and his wife volunteered and fostered for the Clay County Animal Shelter until his death. Jack enjoyed collecting antique lamps, baking and cooking and relaxing with his family. Over the years, Jack and his wife adopted eight special needs children and also had one biological son.
Mr. Forbus is survived by his wife, Sharon Forbus of Cragford; his children: Scott Forbus of Atlanta, GA, Jeremy Forbus of Lineville, Bryan Forbus of Midland, MI, Gabriel Forbus of Atlanta, GA, Zachary Forbus of Lineville, Elianna Forbus of Fort Payne, Melissa Carson of Columbus, GA, and Ashley Forbus of Riverdale, GA; two sisters: Judy Alford (Paul) of Memphis, TN and Peggy Forbus of Alexander City; one brother, Jerry Forbus (Nancy) of Alexander city, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Larkus Seldon Forbus and Eunice Inez McClellan Forbus.
