During this time, she joined Rotary International and was a member for several years. Gail retired from paid public service in 2004. The family spent over forty years in Fayetteville until Ed and Gail moved to Athens to be closer to family. Ed and Gail shared a loving marriage for nearly sixty-two years until Ed’s passing in 2018. Gail was also preceded in death by parents Cecil and Eleanor Adcock; sister Wreatha Adcock Dubose; brother Perry Adcock; and her son Jeff, who passed in 1978. Gail was an active member of the Methodist church her entire life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Keep America Beautiful.
