Reva Lee Wheat Hickerson of Clifton, TN was born February 21, 1928 in Perry County, TN. She was the daughter of the late Grady Isaac and Winnie Ethel Lineberry Wheat. Reva was united in marriage to Walton Farris Hickerson on November 25, 1947.
Reva was a seamstress for Clifton Manufacturing for 40 years until closing; she also worked a Smokey’s Grille. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist. Reva loved gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Reva departed this life on May 26, 2023 in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 95 years 3 months and five days.
Reva is survived by a son, Randall Dale Hickerson (Denise) of Mt. Juliet TN; a daughter, Sylvia Lynn Gobble (David) of Lawrenceburg, TN; a brother, Johnny Wayne Wheat of Linden, TN; a sister, Roberta Evans Polk of Waynesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Carol Hickerson of Clifton,TN; Joshua Gobble (Stacia) of Summertown, TN; Daniel Gobble, Rachel Moore (Chad) of Lawrenceburg, TN; six great-grandchildren, Jessica Hickerson, Jake Moore, Tate Moore, Mack Moore, Ryne Gobble, and Adam Gobble; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ozzy Flores and Olivia Irwin.
In addition to her husband and parents, Reva was preceded by brother, Douglas Wheat; two sisters, Wilma Thacker, Vera Piland; and grandson, Greg Hickerson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN; and on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time at Riverside Methodist Church in Clifton, TN
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Church in Clifton, TN with Chad Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Methodist Cemetery with Shackleford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
