Inece Miller Cook Thomas of Boaz, age 96 of Boaz, passed away Sunday May 14, 2023 at her home.
Her funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Boaz at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery. Rev. Mike Springfield will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Tyler Cook, Mike Liston, Ian Raines, Glenn Sauls, Steve Tidwell and Ronnie Miller. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 at the church before the service.
She was raised in Boaz until her marriage to Edward Cook, also from Boaz in 1944. They enjoyed 24 delightful years as an Airforce family, traveling the world. CMSgt. Retired and passed in 1968. Inece returned to her family roots, residing at 924 Brown Street in Boaz. Their marriage was blessed with five beautiful children; Brenda Joan Liston, Blythewood, S. C., Charles Edwin Cook (Deceased), Patsy Tidwell (Deceased), Pamela Jean Armstrong (Deceased) and Debra Kay Matthews of Boaz, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband; Lelan Thomas.
In 1972, Inece married a childhood friend, Mr. Lelon Thomas of Guntersville, Al. Mrs. Thomas was a lifelong Christian and her faith ran deep and shared with family, friends and church.
She enjoyed traveling, a talented painter and dedicated to improve herself at Snead College for 3 years.
She will be sadly missed by all.
