Debra Kay Matthews, age 61 of Boaz passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Marshall Medical Center South.
Her funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Boaz at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery.. Rev. Mike Springfield will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Tyler Cook, Mike Liston, Ian Raines, Glenn Sauls, Steve Tidwell and Ronnie Miller. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 at the church before the service.
She is survived by her son; Charles Tyler Cook and her sister; Brenda (Michael) Liston.
She is preceded in death by her father; Edward Arthur Cook, mother; Bertha Inece Miller Cook Thomas, brother; Charles Cook and sisters; Pamela Armstrong and Patsy Tidwell.
She loved her family and helping others. She also loved music and dogs, especially the Beatles. She would help anybody that needed it no matter the problem or the price. She had a heart of gold.
