Mary Ruth Mitchell, 93, of Athens, passed away Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mable Gooch, and brothers, Richard Gooch and Thomas Gooch.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Mitchell; son, Tommy Mitchell; grandsons, Wes Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, and Joseph Mitchell; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Neida Ivey and Barbara Ciliax; and sister-in-law, Annette Gooch.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 19th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with the funeral service following at the church with Dr. Kevin Moore officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
