Dixie Jean Lucas age 92 of Hamilton, AL passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in the Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton, AL.
Born November 20, 1930 in Lamar County, AL, she is the Daughter of the late Lawrence and Madaline Webb Stanford and the Wife of the late J. Paul “Bud” Lucas. She had lived in Lamar County most of her life, had worked at Detroit Slacks and was a member of the Hamilton Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by 2 adopted cousins she raised as Daughters, Geneva Williams and Virginia Taylor both of Hamilton, AL, adopted Grandchildren, Kris Wisecarver, Tina Mullins and Tanya Brasher, a host of adopted Great Grandchildren, and 3 Sisters, Beatrice Robison of Detroit, AL, Christine Dupree of Hamilton, AL and Louise Knight of Sulligent, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband, J. Paul “Bud” Lucas, and 3 Brothers, Beldon, Arbie Lee and Arnold Stanford.
Services held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Adjoining Cemetery. Bro. Danny Stanford officiating.
