Mr. Douglas Ward Walters, age 70, of Baileyton, Alabama passed away on Sunday evening, May 14, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital. Doug was born May 2, 1953 in Canada. Parents were Ronald Weir Walters and Ruby Ethel Bedford Walters. Doug’s wife of 16 years was Emma A. Mergogey Walters. He was working at Wal-Mart as a sales associate and had previously earned his associates degree. In his leisure time he tinkered with trucks, woodworking, semi trucks, and his Bob Cat loader.
Cherishing memories of Doug are immediate family members; wife, Emma A. Walters; sons, David Walters and Mark Walters; daughters, Wendy MaGee (Rob) and Megan Flynn (Tristan); step son, Martin Caldwell; step daughter, Constance Gore (Paul); brother, Edward Walters (Patty); 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Ruby Walters.
A visitation with family will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will follow the visitation promptly at 11:00. Brother Jim Hale will be officiating.
