Funeral services for Catherine Freeman will be Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2pm at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. Steve Buttram officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland City Cemetery.
Mrs. Freeman was one of 9 children born to Idus and Hattie Mae Griffin. She was a devoted wife, mother, and granny. She enjoyed gardening particularly planting flowers. She was a fantastic cook. Her southern style dishes, homemade biscuits, and peach cobbler were her specialties. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Patricia Jenkins of Ashland, Catherine Patterson of Ashland, Alexander (Krystle) Griffin of Sylacauga and Larry Patterson of Ashland; grandchildren, Alaina and Chase Griffin, Christopher Denney, Nicholas Denney, Casey Green, Desiree Colclasure, Maria Patterson, Kenny Turley, Tim (Cheyanne) Mitchell and Justin Mitchell; 10 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Katie Griffin; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry Freeman; son, Eddie Patterson, daughter, Victoria Odell and seven brothers.
Pallbearers are Alexander Griffin, Chase Griffin, Tim Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, Bradley Lovett, and Mario Hernandez.
Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30 until 8:00.
